Just 12 km West of Cherbourg, your gate to la Hague and Val de Saire, rugged coasts and good food. Rated 3 stars by French tourism authorities (2 épis by Gîtes de France) for its location and comfort. Gite for weekly rental in the park of the listed castle of Dur-Ecu (16thc.).
300 m from the beach… where the British navy landed in 1522… and 1758 (trust the Admiralty for keeping good records), and with full view of the coast.
From your windows you enjoy full sea views… in fact you see the site of one of the famous naval battles of the American civil war: The sinking of the Confederate Alabama by the U.S.S. Kearsarge.
Beautiful walks, short and long, from your doorstep. These watermills were built around 1808, by the family of the present owners, to grind barley and wheat.
Conveniently near to all shops, services.

Independent watermill on two levels. Living room with 3 windows on the sea, CD, DVD reader,TV. Terrace facing the sea with garden urniture. 1.4km from shops and services.
The price includes tourism tax, house linen and sheets, water, and electricity within the limit of 440 kWh per contracted week from October to May, 70kwh otherwise, additional kWh charged at a rate of 0,13 €/kWh.
Rented as gite (weekly, do your own cleaning).
Bedrooms on the 1st (top) floor:
Main bedroom with a double bed (1m40 wide) accessed through a second bedroom with twin beds (1m10 wide). Our stairs are considered steep by some guests.

Nearest superette 1 mile away. On the way you pass the local baker, doctor, church, pharmacy, newsagent, postal office, ATM. 2 miles further, large & excellent supermarket.
Your Sunday lunch is ready: On that day the local butcher runs an open-air pit-fire Rotisserie on the village square, where you can buy roasted legs of lamb, pork ribs, chickens.
A great sight and fantastic taste. Don’t forget to come with a container and ask for the gravy !

High season (July -Aug) : 600 €
Medium (Late spring, early autumn, school holidays): 390 €
Low season: 270€
Maid Service 15 € per hour.
